Literacy Network took its current name to reflect that it is a network of students, teachers, tutors and community partners that spans Dane County. These relationships help the work of Literacy Network, the work of our partners and the general well-being of all.

Urban League of Greater Madison
Urban League's mission: "To improve the social and economic conditions of African Americans, other people of color, and the economically disadvantaged in our community." ULGM has an agenda to work in the areas of

• Workforce Development
• Equity Development

Wisconsin Institute for Learning Disabilities/Dyslexia (WILDD)
WILDD helps both children and adults with personalized instruction in literacy, numeracy and technology skills. "[A]t WILDD, we never have the same program for any two clients. We approach learning not from a standardized structure, but rather a personally-tailored plan that fits our client's needs and educational goals."

YWCA of Madison
YWCA is "committed to self-determined social change for women of all racial, ethnic and economic groups." Its Success Internship program focuses on finding jobs for their clients through a three-tiered approach:

• Structured Training: ...participants continue to receive case management and support services from the Success Program Coordinator.
• Internship Program: ...for participants that lack on-the-job experience or for participants that have a poor work history and needs to building a solid experience.
• Employment Search: ...for participants who have attended structured training, participated in an internship or already have significant experience in the field of their choice.

Madison Urban Ministry (MUM)
"Madison-area Urban Ministry, Inc. is a nonprofit interfaith social justice organization that convenes individuals and faith communities in the greater Dane County area in order to identify, study, urge action, and work together for social justice in the broader community. MUM has spurred social change in and about Dane County for almost three decades."

Community Action Coalition (CAC)
"Our mission is to develop the economic and social capacities of individuals, families and communities to reduce poverty in Dane, Jefferson and Waukesha counties. Since its founding in 1966, CAC has engaged communities in the struggle to eliminate poverty. By creating and operating a wide variety of programs through specialized divisions, we strive to enhance the skills, knowledge and capacity of people experiencing poverty so they may improve their economic and social circumstances."
