The 19th Annual Literacy Network Run/Walk
We are partnering this year with UW Homecoming to present the 19th Annual Literacy Network Run/Walk and Fun Run with Bucky.
All funds raised through the Run/Walk support Literacy Network and its efforts to help learners reach their goals. You can be part of someone's success story by supporting this event and/or by becoming a volunteer tutor. All participants are welcome to join us for
a fun after-party cookout with massages from Elements Therapeutic Massage, live reggae music, Johnsonville brats
and Chocolate Shoppe ice cream!
Get your team together!
Simply decide on a name and have all of your team members fill in the name of the team on your paper or online registration form.
Form a team and run or walk with friends, family
and coworkers. Team member registration fee is only $28 for each team member. Minimum team size is five members. Select a team captain and call 244.3911
or e-mail runwalk@litnetwork.org to receive your team recruitment kit. Registration forms may be submitted individually.
The largest school team wins $1,000 of books for
their school library from the University Bookstore! Contact your school to help them build a team and improve their library!

- Friday, October 1, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Saturday, October 2, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Sunday, October 3, 8:30 a.m.- 10:00 a..m.
- Event starts at 10:30 a.m. near the
corner of State and Gorham Streets.
Day of event
Registration, bib, chip anklet, and T-shirt pick up
begins at 8:30 a.m. at Avol's Books.
Timing chips must be worn on foot or ankle in order to register your run time. Anklets cannot be picked up until event day and must be returned immediately after event.
All pledges are tax deductible. Please include complete address to assure documentation. Please bring all
donations with you to the event registration site or
drop off at Literacy Network, 1118 S Park Street

Answers to your questions
Q: I want to form a team. Do all of the team members have to do the same type of event (5k or 10k)?
A: No. It doesn't matter which type of event you sign up to do.
Q: I want to form a team. How do I get all of my team members signed up?
A: Simply decide on a name and have all of your team members fill in the name of the team on your paper or online registration form.
Q: I want my shirt. When will you give it to me?
A: You can pick up a shirt at the registration times listed above.
Q: Can I win stuff?
A: You can. If you collect $500 in pledges, we'll give you a gift certificate to a downtown hotel; collect $300 and get a bookstore gift certificate. Collect $150 in pledges and get a Literacy Network Run/Walk performance t-shirt.
The largest school team will get a $1000 gift certificate to UW Bookstore for their library, and the largest non-school team will each get a gift card to use at downtown businesses.
