The Literacy Network works with adult Literacy and English as a Second Language learners from a wide variety of cultural/language backgrounds. "See the world" right in Madison while you help learners achieve everyday successes like reading to their children, writing a note to a loved one, filling out a job application, and reading labels at the grocery store.
In 2008, we helped more than 1,300 learners reach over 4,900 functional literacy goals. This was made possible, in part, through 11,180 hours given by more than 400 volunteer tutors.
There are many ways to get involved at Literacy Network. Whether you become a tutor or help behind the scenes, volunteer once a week or once a year, share your expertise or learn new skills, you find ways to contribute toward the goal of increasing adult literacy rates in Dane County!
